Big Ideas, Design Thinking, and Google
The process of design thinking provides a valuable methodology for schools and educators who wish to become more creative and innovative in how they approach their craft. This process has a wide range of applicability, from supporting the creation of such things as a framework for a 1:1 initiative to providing a pedagogical foundation for classroom learning. In all cases, the process provides an effective pathway for working and learning in new ways that can lead to new, creative, and compelling working and learning opportunities for school organizations and its educators. In this workshop, you'll have the opportunity to learn the pathway of design thinking by directly engaging in an educational issue worth developing solutions for. We'll engage you in a series of design charettes where you will experience each element of design thinking process and have the time to master the skills required to employ the process. We'll challenge you to learn how to approach problems with empathy, how to ideate, prototype and iterate your way to creative insights. If this process sounds interesting, join us for an intense workshop on design thinking, where you’ll be introduced to a process that can be used to fuel imagination and drive creative solution finding. We’ll form design teams, ideate and prototype solutions, and expand and apply the process to everything Google. Post-It Notes and Sharpies provided!
