In this workshop, I introduce ways that many digital tools can be used for both formative and summative assessments. We'll also explore creative ways teachers can provide individualized feedback to students for projects and assignments. We will use examples from a range of subject areas and tools to inform our discussion about their advantages over traditional means of gathering assessment and implications for classroom practice. We will use Google Docs, Slides, Forms, and Drawings to create assignments, check for understanding, provide feedback, and modify instruction. We will then use Google Classroom to grade assignments and Google Sites to share assignments with an authentic audience.
Attendees will be prepared to integrate real-time note taking and respond to anonymous questions, utilize comments and screencasts, create surveys and quizzes, and publish and receive feedback on student work.
